Prices move with stock and exchange rates, so treat these as a guide. Current Bluetti models use LiFePO4 cells. For other brands and sizes, see our portable power station guide.
Bluetti EB3A, AC2P and AC50P: small units
Bluetti EB3A (268Wh, 600W) is one of the cheapest well-known power stations in Kenya. It runs a router for most of a day, or lights, a router and a TV (about 110W) for around 2 hours. Its 600W output covers a laptop, a fan and a small TV together. Bluetti's power lifting mode runs some heating appliances at reduced power, but it will not run an iron box properly.
The AC2P is smaller still, for phones, a router and lights. The AC50P (504Wh, 700W) doubles the EB3A's storage for not much more money and covers an evening of lights, TV and router in about 4 hours. None of these is a good choice for a fridge.
Bluetti AC70P and AC180P for home blackouts
Bluetti AC70P (864Wh, 1,000W) is the sweet spot for many homes. It runs lights, router, TV and fan for about 6 to 7 hours and can usually start and run a small efficient fridge for several hours.
Bluetti AC180P (1,440Wh, 1,800W) is the most popular mid-size Bluetti. It covers a full evening and night of lights, router and TV (about 11 hours at 110W), or a small fridge for most of a day. Its 1,800W output handles a microwave or a small iron box for short spells.
Both have a UPS function: plug the TV and router through it and it takes over within a fraction of a second when KPLC goes off. That is fast enough for most routers and TVs, though a desktop computer may still restart.
Bluetti AC200Max and larger units
The Bluetti AC200Max (2,048Wh, 2,200W) is an older model that you can expand with extra Bluetti batteries. It is less often in stock now, and prices vary. Newer units in the same class include the Premium 200 V2 (about KSh 128,000) and the AC200PL (about KSh 155,000).
For whole-home backup, the Home Star 3 (about 3kWh for about KSh 120,500) and the AC500 with a B300K battery (5,000W output, about KSh 220,000) run a fridge, lights, TV and more through long blackouts. At this size, compare the price with a fixed system using the solar calculator.
Bluetti solar panels to pair
Bluetti solar panels fold flat and plug straight into the power station. Approximate prices:
- 100W: about KSh 19,500.
- PV200 (200W): about KSh 33,000 to KSh 35,000.
- PV350 (350W): about KSh 70,000.
Bundles cost less than buying separately. The EB3A with a PV200 is about KSh 55,000, and the AC50P or Premium 30 V2 with a PV200 about KSh 65,000.
Match the panel to the unit's solar input. The EB3A takes about 200W, so a PV200 is enough. The AC70P and AC180P take about 500W, and the AC200Max about 900W. A standard rigid panel with the right voltage and connector also works for much less per watt.
Buying genuine Bluetti stock and warranty
To protect yourself when you buy a Bluetti power station:
- Ask for a receipt and the serial number, and register the unit in the Bluetti app when you first set it up.
- Check the warranty terms with the seller in writing: how long it lasts in Kenya and who handles a repair.
- Buy the UK or 230V version. US versions give 120V and will not run Kenyan appliances properly.
- Be wary of prices far below the figures above, or of model names Bluetti does not use.
Bluetti vs EcoFlow, and when a home system is better
In Kenya, Bluetti is usually cheaper per watt-hour than EcoFlow:
- Small: the EB3A (268Wh) is about KSh 27,000, against about KSh 37,000 for the EcoFlow River 2 (256Wh).
- Mid-size: the AC70P (864Wh) is about KSh 60,500, against about KSh 59,000 for the River 2 Pro (768Wh).
- Larger: the AC180P (1,440Wh) is about KSh 82,000, against about KSh 108,000 for the Delta 2 (1,024Wh).
EcoFlow tends to charge faster from the wall and has a more polished app. Both use LiFePO4 cells in their current models.
If you want power for the whole house every day, a fixed home solar system stores far more for the money. Send one request and up to 3 licensed installers will quote.
